The best of northern parks in 5 days’ time! You’ll be visiting Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Serengeti National Park and the famous Ngorongoro Crater. Enjoy the very best parks in the northern circuit! You will sleep in Safari tents.
Your Safari adventure starts today! We pick you up from your hotel in Moshi or Arusha for the 2,5 hour drive you to the unique Tarangire National Park. We’ll do a full day game drive in Tarangire Safari Park which is best known for its large herds of elephants and the huge baobao trees that are several hundred years old. Some of these strange looking trees have giant trunks that form natural caves, which have been used by poachers to hide from the park rangers. At the end of the day we go to Africa Safari Lake Manyara where you overnight in a simple but nice camping Safari tent.
After breakfast we will go to Lake Manyara, an underestimated gem that offers a large ecological variety in a small area This park is known for its breath taking panoramic views, waterfalls, babbling brooks with clear water, hot springs and more than 400 bird species. We do a game drive in Lake Manyara all day and if you like to walk you can also book a 2 hour walking safari. On foot you can enjoy giraffes, buffaloes and other animals from a good distance. Noteworthy are also the big group of Baboons that often have vociferous quarrels. In the afternoon you drive back to Africa Safari Lake Manyara where you spend the night in your Safari tent again.
Over the next two days you will explore the world famous Serengeti National Park. The word Serengeti comes from the Maasai language and literally means “endless plains”. Lots of predators roam these vast plains; over four thousand lions, cheetahs, leopards, hyenas and wild dogs. The route you take is beautiful, driving along the Ngorongoro plateaus and continue along the western crater road until the trail leads you downhill directly into the legendary Serengeti.
After lunch we do a game drive all afternoon in this unique ecosystem. Towards the evening we arrive at Africa Safari Ikoma Lodge. Located between Serengeti Seronera, Grumeti and Ikorongo Game Reserves the location is perfect for exploring the Serengeti. It’s a lovely retreat to relax, watch the bird life or a herd of impala grazing quietly around the camp area. Enjoy the truly breathtaking night sky while listening to the sounds of the African bush.
The fourth day we spend one more day in Serengeti and late afternoon we head to Ndutu/South Serengeti where we overnight Africa Safari South Serengeti. The area is famous for the calving season of the Great Migration, an absolute highlight of the annual wildebeest migration.
After breakfast you set off directly towards the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. When you checked in at the gate, you will drive up through a forest until you reach one of most unique places in Africa, the Ngorongoro Crater. This caldera is the result of volcanic activity and for many guests it presents the main reason to go to on Safari in Tanzania. After the spectacular descent to the caldera floor you are greeted with one of the densest population of wild mammals in the world. The Crater is home to lions, elephants, hippos, gnus, warthogs etc… And of course you can see a few of the critically endangered African rhinoceros. One can see all the members of the Big 5 in Tanzania in this world heritage site! After this exciting game drive we return back to Moshi or Arusha.
